What: Guided Mindfulness Meditation
Each Wednesday I will be guiding you through a Meditation called Shamata.
Shamata is a calming mindfulness meditation and one of the most important practices in Buddhism.
This is a very simple and effective meditation that goes back more than 2.500 years.
Find more on the Shamata Meditation here, on Wikipedia.
Don’t worry, you do not need to be an experienced meditation practitioner or beleiver, this meditation helps to reduce stress and anxiety, independent on what you believe or not.
Who is this course for?
This course is for beginners and experienced practitioners are also highly welcome!
I will be guiding this meditation as it was taught by the Chögyam Trungpa, meditation master and holder of the Kagyu lineage, one of the four schools in Tibetan Buddhism. So this is suitable for beginners and I am sure that it holds a lot of interesting aspects for more experienced meditatiors too.
The teaching that I will be giving follows my course „Crossing Tibet“ that is available on Insight Timer
When: every Wednesday at 19:00 – 19:30h
This is a regular course, but you can drop in and out any time you like, there’s no need for registration.
Schedule
19:00 – 19:05: Welcome and Introduction
19:05 – 19:15: Teaching and Information about the Shamata Mindfulness Meditation
19:15 – 19:30: Meditation Practice
19:30: End
What do I need to bring?
Bring a yoga mat, a towl or blanket to sit on. But there is also a small pedestal or base, that’s good to sit on.
The viewing plattform is usually really clean, but sitting on the bare tiles may be a bit hard.
Who is teaching and why?
I am a Meditation Teacher, that mosty creates Meditation Courses for the Meditation App: Insight Timer.
I’ve just moved to Malta and want to establish a fixed meditation circle, just because it’s nice to sit together and practice.
In these classes both sides benefit: the meditation students learn from their teacher and the teacher learns from his students.

I am not trying to sell anything, am not going to ask for tipps, will not want to convert you to any religion. I do this for my own joy and passion.
I’m looking forward to see you!
Ralf
